From Istanbul to the World: The Visionary Journey of FIATA President Turgut Erkeskin
This month, we shine the spotlight on Turgut Erkeskin, a true pioneer in the logistics and freight forwarding industry.
Born in Istanbul in 1964, Turgut’s journey into global transport leadership began with a degree in Economics from Istanbul University, followed by early international experience in maritime trade. In 1988, he founded GENEL TRANSPORT, a company that continues to thrive under his leadership as President & CEO.
Turgut’s influence extends far beyond his company. He has held prominent positions in national and international organizations, including serving as President of UTIKAD and leading the Logistics Business Council of DEIK. His long-standing commitment to FIATA began in 2010, culminating in his appointment as FIATA President in October 2023.
Through stories like Turgut, we are reminded that our industry is built not just on logistics and networks, but on vision, perseverance, and heart.
